Welcome to the official blog series of SPFW!


Scottish Pakistan Fashion Week was recently held at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow and was star studded with the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon also present.

The mission of SPFW:

As it is quite commonly seen in Pakistan, star studded events are used to raise awareness of a concern or an issue on the rise.

Mr Fida Hussain the CEO of SPFW stated the following as his  and his organisation’s mission:

The organization’s mission is to bridge the gap between Pakistani and international designers, provide a formidable commercial platform between the designers and channel partners as well as global fashion media. Scotland Pakistan Fashion Week’s ultimate goal is to garner global exposure for Pakistani fashion industry, its designers and in particular its artisans.
Through educational fashion seminars, year-round fashion events, and charitable partnerships, Scotland Pakistan Fashion Week is gaining rapid acclaim for its community-service efforts, particularly its women-empowerment role, and for infusing world-class innovation within the Pakistani Fashion Industry. SPFW Season 1:

The event, SPFW was hosted in partnership with Miraal which provides a platform to purchase fashionable clothing from reputable designers who create tasteful designs with reference to Pakistani heritage. Miraal and SPFW together had the aim of not only showing us the variety of trending designs but to show the work that goes on behind the scenes.

The Fashion show was hosted over the weekend with an exhibition area, three fashion catwalks, shared with THIRTY designers. The show was a large success with high coverage by press and media.

In this SPFW series, after this short introduction, designers and everyone else involved with SPFW will be featured. The aim of this series is to invite you to learn more about all the designers and their mottos behind their designs.
